Another holiday weekend and the weather is looking flyable for all of us, at least some of the time! Full details below.

SATURDAY

High pressure to the west of Scotland on Saturday with lower pressure over southern Sweden. This results in an unstable, cold, northerly airflow through the UK and Ireland.
The most unstable of the air is going to be over eastern areas and so it is here where there will be showers, some of them heavy with a risk of thunder. However the morning, away from northern and eastern Scotland as well as eastern England, is likely to be starting dry and fair.
Western areas of the UK will be drier and brighter. There will be sunny spells here, perhaps an isolated shower. Over Ireland it will be cold and bright with sunny spells, but the risk of an isolated shower developing in the afternoon.
Winds N F6-F7 in the east, F4-F5 in the west.
SUNDAY

High pressure extends through Ireland and into southwest England on Sunday. A cold front affects northern Scotland, edging south. A weak trough over the Midlands and Wales.
It should be a fair and cold morning as well as being dry. Some showers will be developing, mostly in the Midlands and Wales as well as southern England.
An area of cloud and more persistent rain in northern Scotland, edging southwards.
Other areas should be dry with sunny spells. Feeling cold for all.
Winds NW F4 but F5 in the far north.
