I heard it was something to do with Chevron's vectoring ;-)

Wasn't me that day, the day I did the B52 we had switched the flypast to 06 after it cocked up its turn on and after holding it over Odiham to await its slot, I timed it perfectly so it was a 2nm just as the Apache helicopter finished its display.
Anyway, according to the UK Mil AIP, Fairford can be activated by NOTAM for military aircraft at 48hr notice; for civil aircraft, 60 days PPR is required.
NOTAM says active today (15th) until 1700 UTC
