G-URMS yesterday completed IFR inflight testing.

Europas had already flown IFR for many years in the United States. But this is new for the U.K.

Great news for suitability equipped and approved Europas in the U.K. Well done G-URMS! Well done the CAA! Well done the LAA!

Congratulations! How long did the process take from the initial MOD15 application?

Calm down, calm.......

Well just a bit anyway. The flight from Blackbushe was about approval to fly at night. No small feat in itself.

Further on will be approval to fly in IMC. IFR? Well one day hopefully.

Hi all.

Yes, it was me. Guilty as charged.

As cloudhound said, it was a night flight to get the night rating approved. She's already been assessed for IMC and passed. Hopefully just the paperwork to get processed now and she'll be the first UK Europa to be approved for night & IMC.

Onwards & upwards......literally
