Only one will get this particular livery.

It would seem there are possibly three others in the pipeline including a BEA scheme.

.. ah, the Marketing people feeling liverish ? :)

[I can recall the pastel colours (green, pink, pale orange, possibly mauve, ..) on the Court Line aircraft after they rebranded from Autair .. shortly before they went bust. No connexion, of course

The no-paint, polished aluminium, American scheme presumably saved on weight and boundary layer drag, too. Perhaps it led to extra maintenance costs in cleaning, though ]

There's a vicious rumour going around that the 'Weirdy Beardy' is going to upstage the BA classic livery .
Apparently , the upper-deck windows are going to be covered in with insertion patches , leaving just three.
Then the winglets are to be removed and the HF aerials refitted to the wingtips .

And the cabins will be transformed back to give that real 1970s aroma [ and I don't mean fag ash and Brut33 either]
I've heard that the old Racasan bogs with the turd slicers are being retrofitted .

You can't beat a good old whiff of nostalgia can you.....

Personally, I think that the old liveries on transport equipment tend to look far more professional, a lot of the modern ones with all lower case lettering and gaudy colours look too informal.

The BA Landor and Intercity Swallow liveries look better than most things these days, though I'd say the Chatham Dockyard scheme is very good.

Not only did Air France paint a (few?) aircraft in historical liveries for their anniversary celebrations, but just before Christmas they let their staff wear historic uniforms from the past. I thought it was brilliant. The ladies that I spoke to said they felt honoured to be allowed to wear some of these historic uniforms (Dior, Pierre Cardin etc) and were a great advert for their company - Alot of People taking photos.

The current scheme. It was one of Ayling’s tails which was used on Concorde and adopted on the rest of the fleet.

I would be really surprised at that given the enormity of the task , the cost and the associated increased fuel burn......

Chatham Dockyard used to produce flags for all UK ships. So the UK 'flag' livery style was named after it.

On a similar theme there's three (I think) Tornado now wearing special liveries for their final flights before the smelter.

Thinking of Weirdy Beardy and liveries, I often wonder how the "4 engines for longhaul" campaign is doing with the current Virgin fleet .

A couple of them are back in service due to some issues with the latest “2 engines for Longhaul”.

er, not everything is smelted. Gloucestershire technology doing significant 'repurposing':
