According to SD and the AIP, the Rigby Group airports seem to be ignoring the 8.33 requirements. Out of all their airports, only Norwich seems to have changed to 8.33, all the rest still 25kHz.

Is it legal to talk with them?????

In the Oxford English Dictionary for those of us who speak proper like it is spelt with a 'c'.
In Amercanised slang that is sometimes used on 'ere it is spelt with an 's'.

from OED:

"farse (plural farses)

A vernacular paraphrase inserted into Latin liturgy.

Verb

farse (third-person singular simple present farses, present participle farsing, simple past and past participle farsed)

(transitive) To insert vernacular paraphrases into (a Latin liturgy). "

Of course, we definitely need more and unadulterated Latin, the international language of science for centuries, in aviation jargon :)

Or you could use 'farsi' script.

Why would you need to turn away traffic calling on the old 25KHz frequency? If you can both hear one another what’s the problem?
Using the correct frequency/channel is the pilot’s responsibility, not ATC’s.

Am I being thick also! Went close to Pboro Sibson the other day, they've changed from 120.325 to 120.330. both are 25kz freq's, aren't they? I set the freq initially on 8.33 then toggled to 25kz and both were crystal !

Frequency is the same, the receive filter width is now narrower. In theory, if the channels either side have been allocated to others, you would now hear others as well as who you wanted to hear when setting the 25kHz channel.

No, 120.325 is 25kHz, 120.330 is 8.33kHz.

What you're doing when you switch is to change the receive filter in your radio. If you select 120.325, you'll have the 25kHz filter switched in, so may be subject to interference if the adjacent 8.33 channels were to be used at the same time. By selecting 120.330 you invoke the 8.33 filter, thus filtering out any neighbouring 8.33 channels which may be in use.

Ah, thanks for the explanation.
