Met my old mate Alan, plus Alan Bennet-Turner ( one of the original Radio Caroline DJ’s!) at Deenthorpe yesterday. A pair of Robin Regents. It’s a great destination, due in no small part to the amazing bacon, sausage and egg baguette we had for lunch, plus some very jolly banter and an eye catching ..ahem...’gentleman’s calendar’ of local beauties. Say namore!
PPR not required and also ‘donations only’ landing fee. In my book this means a tenner. A pity that some ‘forget’.
Run by the members for the members on an ex -B17 base steeped in history, with lots of interesting stuff on the clubhouse walks, it deserves our support.
We will return, if only to study the 2019 calendar waiting to go up

Original post seconded.A breath of fresh air as far as GA destinations completely devoid of the usual “Groundlings” trying to make a bureaucratic living out of our sort of flying.Really sad that significant numbers of those visiting “forget” to fill out the visitors log or make a donation.Plans for development I believe but hopefully runway will outlast most of us oldies and there are very few young people following on!Regards Stampe

Yeah the usual grabbing hands grabbing all they can...selfish gits.
We popped in recently in the Cherokee...too little time to grab a bite to eat, but signed the book, squeezed a tenner into the little box, had a pee, shouted pleasantries at Mick and gang, and roared off again. :D

We'll definitely be back...with hungry tummies and time to spare. :thumright:

Flown in twice in the last month. Bacon baguette to die for......smoked or non smoked? one, two or three pieces of bacon? Crispy or not?...and less than £3. :D

Thanks to the OP for bringing this little gem to our attention. Visited today for an egg & bacon bap lunch, with cookies & tea to follow, all for less than a fiver. Nice long runway, a bargain for the suggested voluntary tenner landing fee, which goes towards supporting the airfield operation.
Bringing these sort of venues to the fore is one of the best uses of this Forum

Popped in today and as others have said, it's a really pleasant relaxed atmosphere with very friendly residents. It was nice to meet BobD and his immaculate Europa. The bacon bap was good as well!
