WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST

SATURDAY
---------------
Rain clears east early on Saturday morning with low pressure remaining to the west of Scotland.
Troughs are going to be passing east during the day.
It is a breezy and bright morning for many, although showers, frequent at times, will be affecting many western and southern coasts and hills.
There will be a tendency in the afternoon for the showers to become heavier and pass into much of central, northern and southern England in the afternoon, possibly thundery at times. Always more frequent showers in the Channel area and through southern England.
Fewer showers are expected in Scotland overall, and the showers may become fewer in Ireland too.
Winds SW 18-25kt (F5-F6) for many but SW 15-20kt (F4-F5) in Scotland and then tending to back more S-SW in the afternoon.




SUNDAY
---------------
Low pressure stays west of Ireland on Sunday with an occluded front perhaps brushing through southeast England, together with troughs.
There is the risk of some more persistent rain in the southeast due to the proximity of the trough and front. These are likely to be affecting much of southern England too. Further showers over western Wales and western England but probably tending to be drier and brighter in Scotland and through eastern England.
Eastern Ireland is also likely to be dry although there will be rain frequent showers and stronger winds affecting the west coasts and hills of Ireland.
Winds S-SW 18-25kt (F5-F6) but S-SW 15kt (F4)_ in Scotland, increasing S-SW 28-35kt (F7-F8) in Ireland later.
