I have been asked to be the Contest Director for the British Aerobatics Club event at Little Gransden this year.

The event is designed for people new to competition flying. You can either fly solo, if deemed safe by an approved aerobatic instructor, or you can fly with a "safety-pilot" to look after you and the aeroplane.

Each entrant gets two flights.

Flight 1: Practice in the local area, followed by a judged flight "in the box", intended to give some guidance and feedback on the flying.

Flight2: A "competition flight" in the box critiqued and scored by the judges. With a prize for the winner.

We have had people that have never flown aerobatics before attend. In 2016 the winner of the competition, Kieran Satchell, was 16 and had yet to complete his pilot's license.

This is a good day out!
