Hello!
Well many of you would be forgiven for thinking winter had returned given the mist and murk of the last few days, although it's not been poor everywhere. However, the weekend is looking a little better.

SATURDAY

A slack pressure flow on Saturday giving light winds. A trough in southwest England and southern Wales as well as southern Ireland is likely to be bringing some showers here.
Fairly misty and murky for many with some fog early on, but this should lift to leave broken cloud and some sunny spells, although always on the hazy side for many.
Just note the front in the North Sea close to eastern Scotland. We don't expect this to be giving any significant weather to eastern Scotland but it is a system to keep an eye on just in case it slips further west.
Winds mainly S-SE 5-10kt (F2-F3) but increasing S-SE 15-20kt (F4-F5) in Ireland later in the day.
SUNDAY

Low pressure west of Ireland on Sunday pushes an occluded front eastwards. This brings an area of showery rain through Ireland, western Scotland, western Wales and western England in the morning, with showers following into Ireland.
A drier start to the day in the east of the UK, but then some showery bursts of rain arriving here by evening from what will by then be a very weak front.
Brighter weather with showers follows to the west through the afternoon.
Winds S-SW 15-18kt (F4-F5) but becoming SW 18-25kt (F5-F6) on western coasts and hills through the day. Mainly SE 14-18kt 9F4-F5) in Scotland.
