Many of you are aware of the OnlineGAR list of french customs airfields. Since launch we've had a huge number of contributions, including french airfields emailing in their info. Despite the fact that the AIP "Should" be correct, we keep finding conflicting information, so this is a useful resource. As ever, usual disclaimers, check AIP, call airfield, etc.

I've now added a map - i personally find this rather useful, as if I'm planning a route to spain, and i want to find somewhere about half way, it's nice to see a graphical map of customs airfields.

The main missing information here I believe is "Are they GA friendly" or "Are they going to break the bank". If anyone else thinks this is useful, we could include a "Typical Price" index that respresents a standard GA aircraft landing and parking for 1 night. Some help compiling this would be nice if people think it would be useful.

URL is : https://www.onlinegar.com/frenchcustoms.olg
Then click link for map. To save you having to click your mouse (I know it can be an effort...) Here's a screenshot. If you use the real link you can zoom in and hover your mouse to see the airfield name.

Carl,

Airfields not on the list of list of border crossings, but still showing a Customs service in the AIP, are either inefficient or their operators have unrealistic hopes of being reinstated. The only one that has succeed in challenging the governmen decision is La Mole, because of the Russian business that comes in by private jet in the summer. It is the only modification to the latest list dated 13 April.

I believe Le Castellet will only be able to offer a Customs service during the days of the French F1 Grand Prix at the nearby Paul Ricard circuit.

Two questions: Would it not be better if your list matched the official one exctly, so that there is no chance of misinterpretation? Why include a list airfields that have lost their Customs status?

Morlaix has faced up to reality, so can be taken off your list, but I think Le Castellet, Merville, Valence and Vichy should be too.

Green means yes.

Red means no. The reason I have included these “no” rather than all airfields, or none, is because these are the ones that once had customs and do not any more, or, who have temporary occasional

Looks like the red ones are the second table at Carl's link:

Airfields of note that do not provide facilities, listed here because they may have in the past.

This is really helpful resource - Thanks, Carl. :thumleft:

Edit: Crossed post.

FM - the map above is just a picture, to get the "interactive" map you have to go to the link to the online GAR site given a few lines above the picture (https://www.onlinegar.com/frenchcustoms.olg.) On that site there is a link to click to get to the map. (Or just go direct to https://www.onlinegar.com/frenchcustoms.olg?map=1 .) Then just HOVER the mouse over a green symbol and the name appears. No need to click on the map, that does nothing!
