We moved to Switzerland, to a lakeside town near Geneva, in the '50s not long after there had ceased a scheduled Sandringham service to the lake from Southampton. I'm sorry to have missed a sight of that; it must have been one of the last, possibly the last, flyingboat services in Europe, although Braathens operated (scheduled, I think) Otters on floats in Norway after that. ..
