Hi All,

I am new to this forum, so Hello to everyone.

I am looking to pick some brains - I am going to Austria on holidays and will be in the Tyrol area for 10 days.
I am finding it difficult to find Flying Schools/ Clubs on Google where I can book an aircraft for 1 hour (with an instructor).
The websites are mostly glider clubs and most are in German.
Just looking for any suggestions where there might be a good school with, lets say, a C172, PA28 etc.

Thanks in advance,

Mixturerich.

There are a few schools at Innsbruck airport: https://www.innsbruck-airport.com/en/flight-schools. Both Flugsportzentrum Tirol and Fly Up Innsbruck appear to have fleets with Diamonds, perhaps not surprisingly since they come from just outside Vienna.

Contact details for Fly Up are here: http://www.krappinger.at/kontakt/ and for Flugsportzentrum Tirol are here: http://www.flugsportzentrum-tirol.at/de/kontakt/.

Note that I have no affiliation with either, and I haven't flown with them. I have landed many times on CAT in Innsbruck (yearly skiing holidays) and you should be able to do some nice alp flying in the vicinity.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the info - that looks really good.
It looks like a lovely setting in which to get some flying time under my belt ........ and a new plane type in the logbook to boot.

Much appreciated,

Mixturerich.

Enjoy! I've rented a couple of times in Berne, Switzerland, and flown through the valleys from Salzburg to Vienna. Fantastic experiences! Having an instructor the first time in the mountains is a very good idea; there's a lot to think about
