With other branches of flying for young people facing cuts in the last few years there has been a success story.

The Spirit of Goole (Registered Charity 1159086) was set up in 2012 to encourage youngsters in to engineering and aviation in it's 5 years it has raised the funds from private and corporate backers to purchase a Sherwood Ranger kit aircraft and the tooling to allow youngsters aged 12 to 18 years to build into a LAA Permit to Fly aircraft.

The Spirit of Goole Sherwood Ranger is now flying most weekends is now providing the students with air experience flights in addition to functioning as a platform for STEM training for current and future students.

The Spirit of Goole also has several aircraft restoration projects in the pipeline and currently running.

The aim for the future is to provide ab initio flying training on a scholarship basis each year to several young people who would not otherwise be able to enter aviation as a career or hobby.

With this in mind The Spirit of Goole would be grateful if you or your business are able to help in any way to visit their mydonate page and help this amazing project bring more young people in to our wonderful world of aviation.
