Even when you have read the instructions and configured PAW correctly, I would still recommend connecting it via an easily switched intercom input with auto-muting to prevent clashes with the radio. It works well in my shareoplane.

I really like the alerts. I must say though setting the sensitivity is a must or it gets very annoying, even if I am getting to like the ladies voice and miss her when I am flying other aircraft. (Lee's daughter I believe I read somewhere)

I notice that the card shows 'Bournemouth 0011 119.475'

There is no mention of this in the UK IAIP at ENR 1.6-6 Para 2.2.5.6.2

0011 - This code may be used when flying in the vicinity of Southampton/Bournemouth Zones/Areas and monitoring Solent Radar frequencies.

119.475 is not a Solent Radar Frequency.

Not sure where I read it before, but clearly not in the AIP where I thought I read it, however I was under the impression 119.475 could be used when monitoring 120.225 and 119.475 - I stand corrected!

From what I can see you squawk 0011 and listen on either the Solent LARS frequency of 120.225 or the Bournemouth LARS frequency of 119.475. Presumably you use Southampton if to the East and Bournemouth if to the West.

That might be on a very pretty 'reference card', but that's not what it says in the AIP. I can find no option in the AIP to listen to Bournemouth on 119.475 and set code 0011, so it could be that someone might have 'made that bit up'...

the map at the bottom of page 3 of the late lamented Solent Collaborative Airspace Trial AIC certainly seemed to imply that West of Lymington one should monitor 119.475 and squawk 0011

i.e no mention of monitoring Bournemouth frequency. Discrepancies across the published info.

The Bournemouth frequency is meant to be monitored South and West of a line between Stoney Cross and Hurst Castle.
