I flew this aircraft last in July, never got on too well with trying to land it gracefully! Thankfully the folk flying it are ok but it is likely written off according to the club. Will be interesting to know what happened!

Fuel leak was mentioned- maybe to tip the fuel away from the hole whilst it was being plugged?

Looking at the 'Devonlive' article, there is another picture of a DC3 having landed on a Devon beach (looks like Braunton Sands to me) for the filming of a new WW2 film.

It's Saunton Sands, and is for filming an adaptation of the novel "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society". Not a bad book at all.

Did you check mass/balance? If just you and instructor, you need to get the weight in the back right with this aircraft or you will never get good landings. We used to have a water container in the back... two pob on board, fill it, three on board, empty it.
