Went yesterday what a dissapiontment! Same old tat and if you landed on the grass ( I bounced the chippie before anyone reminds me! ) you had to hike to the booking-in tent then another long walk for the very drawn out bus service to take you over...
For those that are interested - would anyone like to see the sort of thing I have to discuss and write about on a daily basis with a view to helping repair the problem?
You wake up tomorrow to find that you have one a free airline ticket up to the value of 500 pounds which will take you pretty much most places in the world with a bit of clever planning.
Advance warning - my niece is getting married in October and 27th September is a sort of stag do. I agreed to take the groom and the groom's future father in law flying that day.
Could we have a fly-in somewhere? Say within an hour and 15 minutes...
Ivy has just endorsed my suggestion for a fly-in. So its going to be mid August. Actual date to be confirmed. Harry has agreed to play banjo and serve drinks.
OK, so it doesn't look like too many people are going to be turning up to todays shindig (except for 2Ds because he's flying a big twin engine 7 seater :) so how about one at Duxford in a couple of weeks time?
I'm going to propose the following...
I'm planning a 3 day mini-tour next month. I don't know where to go. I've got 100 hours so I don't want to do anything to adventurous like crossing the Alps or something. The trip will be done in the C150 (what else !!).
Any suggestions ? I haven't...

I was talking to Howard Dubovie from the CAA Aeronautical Charts & Data Section at the PFA Rally and he mentioned the return of the VFR Guide.
I bumped into what I think is the new web page containing a list of Adobe Acrobat files that make up the...
Well, I finally got it!
17 working days later my PPL licence arrived in the mail - recorded delivery no less!
Took the g/f up last night for a quick flight (out of Stapleford) down to Bluewater and up to Hanningfield and home.
We got out of the...

Can anybody make any recommendations for life jackets for children in the 5-8 age group? I've looked at all the various pilot shop web sites I can find and none seem to sell anything suitable. There are plenty of marine lifejackets for that age...
Finally got round to shrinking the pic of the culprits (offers of cash accepted for ACTUALLY shrinking the culprits). I'm sure a caption contest could be spawned from this...
I am being told that some aircraft have been impounded on the Contient before for not having proof of paying VAT when originally imported!? Is this true? My PFA plane was imported from Canada over 10 years ago!
I treated myself to my own headset half way through my PPL course - a very nice Pilot PA 17-79 set. They are very comfortable and the noise reduction is superb. The only catch is that they don't get on well with...
So here are a few questions i have been needing an answer to for a while now and havn't got anywhere with - and knowing what a fountain of knowledge exists on the forum i hope will now be answered:

when we have day light up to 10 pm in june-july why on earth dont our british flying clubs stay open till later..the best time to fly is towards the end of the day when the wind(always)drops and visibility improves..if the clubs genuinely like to...
As a mature trainee of quite a few hours, I find my most nervous part is the R/T. I train from a commercial airfield which has ATC. Normally after making a 'downwind' call I receive a reply '(callsign) report final number one', or '(callsign) report...
After a near death experience a few years ago Mrs S isn't especially keen to go flying. However having procured the services of a babysitter for my two we are, weather permitting, off somewhere on Friday and back on Saturday - any...
On 20/07/2003 My AOL account was hacked and used for E-mail spamming. As I have a few forum users E-mail adress saved in my AOL account I just wanted to appologise if any one on the forum was spammed from my account.
Just out of idle curiosity (as I'm feeling particularly idle today :-) does anyone know of a place on the web where you can get comparisons of approximate running costs of aircraft, particularly twins and light jets ....
European GA is facing massive cost increases, more red tape and what some say is an unnecessarily daunting training regimen for many technicians as the European...

Permanent planning for Sherlowe has been passed. Some restrictions which we expected. 6 movements per day (6 take offs and 6 landings) 08.00 to 22.00, fuel, and 1 fly-in per year. Rob Sawyer, get practising to land on grass. Thanks to all who wrote...
Hi, I am researching into what course/s I need to do in order to obtain a PPL, and of course, the most cost effective way of achieving this. I am a little confused by the 'jargon' used in describing what is on offer.
Flower wrote the following on another thread re the PFA Rally:
I was very surprised to see spotters taking regs of all the aircraft , you live and learn I didn't realise they would be interested in GA . Each to their own ;-)
Branscombe is host to a Devon Strut fly-in and airshow on July 27th. The airshow will feature a Sukhoi duo, a couple of Mustangs etc. Should be a good one. Always a strong turnout and a good day out for all. Hope to see you all there!!!
At the risk of appearing cavalier, why oh why can't someone invent a sensible system for passing relevant NOTAMs rather than pages and pages of irrelevant Carp?
A simple flight from A-B in the UK and I end up reading about procedures for launching...
