SEP Oil - Where do you buy yours ?

Postby davey » Sun Jul 29, 2012 12:03 pm

I've been comparing prices of W100 engine oil and found quite a difference between online bulk and over the counter prices.

This you might expect but the over the counter prices have tended to be cheaper than the bulk suppliers which I didn't expect e.g.
Dunkeswell £5.05/ltr and a well known bulk supplier on these pages £5.25/ltr. The cheapest I've found so far is £3.93/ltr.

So where do you buy yours and at what price ?

I bought a Job lot of 15W50 at Aero Expo, there were some on the day deals, and vouchers off too. There are deals that seem to come and go through the year, from the various purveyors.

I get mine from Transair at Aero Expo. They do some pretty good deals. I think it was £50 for 12 bottles of 15W50 last time I got some, with possibly £10 off for a voucher too.

Are those prices pre or post VAT?

I bought 3 Litres W100 from EGBJ (Gloucester Staverton) on Friday for £4 +VAT per L (£4.80 inc VAT). In the past Gloucester has always been notably cheap - certainly less than the mail order suppliers. That's from the airport itself, not the Transair shop.
I'm going to let the situation mature...

Inc vat.... 50 quid, so 4.16 per bottle of 15W50 aeroshell.

Try LAS, by phone not online and ask them for free delivery, for a Twenty litre drum they're competetive, not sure on smaller quanties as I only buy the drums. Otherwise, A M oils.

I buy mine in bulk from http://www.silmid.com

£97.50 for a 20litre drum of W100 (£4.88/litre)

Probably not the cheapest but always had a good service from them.

We get ours from Transair in cases of 12 (or is it 10-I don't order it) and they are always pretty competitive......
