Nice dramatisation of ATA pilot Joan Allen's 1948 flight in a Fairchild Argus (or 'Angus Fairchild' as the Beeb website has it )from England to Singapore. Worth a listen - love the way she talks to the aeroplane in flight! The lovely Honeysuckle Weeks plays Joan.

.. the delightful Ms Weeks seems to have recreated the voice she used in 'Foyle's War'. An excellent representation of (what we have come, eg from films of that era, to expect to be) the 'nice gel' accent of the '40s; but I hope that she does not get typecast ..
