Interesting thought there Paul. Not that I have any room for a kneeboard, but do you think rubbing garlic into a foolscap one as you reach Mid-Channel could be benficial?

No, as that wouldn't cause one's breath to smell. The garlic should be consumed in a sandwich. The sandwich should be in an approved container. Discuss, I have metric, imperial and BA size fasteners on my aeroplane, so I should be good for worldwide. Or otherwise nowhere perhaps. Anyway, I'm reliably informed that an A5 size kneeboard works in France, as long as you're still on the UK 1/2 mil chart. Back to the original topic, what about a set of goggles?
I've got a Vendeneyev spark plug, from my Yakking days (the plugs had a habit of blowing the insulator out of the metal base; rumour has it this was a 'safety valve' to prevent hyraulicing, but I reckon it was just dodgy Russian plugs. Never happened to me but we all carried a spare just in case).
I wonder if anyone would know what it is if I exhibit it? Sent from my Bardic lamp held out of the window of a Churnet Valley signal box.
Re: PPL 'artifacts'; what to display?I could display all the khrap people leave in our aircraft. Mostly snotty tissues but I have found everything from half sucked sweets to a tenner.
