If nobody wants to go, I'll go alone and be Billy-No-Mates.
Should be a nice trip out if we pick the weather carefully.

Anybody fancy an overnight on Bute?As and when a decent weather slot appears in the next few weeks, does anybody fancy a small gathering at Bute? The plan would be to arrive at the strip mid afternoon, pitch tents on the beach 500 yards away and visit the pub (walking distance from the beach) for a few sherberts and some food in the evening.

Re: Anybody fancy an overnight on Bute?I'm hoping to fly up to Glenforsa/Plockton midweek 6th/7th/8th June.
Bute would fit in very nicely, as would falling down water. Any use? Alan
Re: Anybody fancy an overnight on Bute?Good plan.
Wilco. Sadly, week days are rarely good for me without lots of warning. However, you have sown the seed in my little brain and I have popped it on my list of "to do before I quit". Thank you. Hope you have a good trip and you post a few pictures or even a trip report.
Re: Anybody fancy an overnight on Bute?Same goes for me too. I have the midweek spare 6th/7th and 8th of June, so that's my only availablity at the moment.
Have a good time though.
Re: Anybody fancy an overnight on Bute?By the time you've got the weather to get to Bute you might as well go a little bit further and see the whole of Scotland in all its glory. It's a wonderful place to fly.
We flew over Bute on the way home from this Taylorcraft Scotland trip, and we felt we were close to home (Midlands!)by the time we were there. Have a good flight. Mono: You were supposed to have changed your..er..handle. And I don't know any evil twins, I assure you.
Re: Anybody fancy an overnight on Bute?Hi Mono,
One of these days I will venture further north than Sandtoft! As a matter of interest what route did you take? Neil The Sky is a beautiful place
Hi Neil
Newbury VFR transit through Brize via Northleach Evesham Kidderminster Crewe Manch corridor Blackburn Lancaster Windermere Kirkbride Lockerbie Kilmarnock Bute This morning it was Bute to Strathaven and then pretty much the same route back. Just got back in from putting the transport back in her hangar. A great trip and met some lovely people. 749 miles in total with an averge speed of 100 mph and 104 litres of fuel (14 lph). Total fuel cost was £147. Want some more pics? ![]()
Yes please, more pictures please. When I grow up I want an aircraft like yours. Pretty and frugal. 14lph. Baaaa. The 235 is 44lph at 118-120kts and anything up to 60lph depending on what cruise speed I want. My pocket would soooooo much prefer the 14lph.
