The Jean de Florette ones if you like French filums or the terminator ones if you don't.
I would gorge on boys films as I am shallow but I would drink champagne at the same time (while eating fish and chips)
The Christian Bale Batman ones are good and so are the Steve Martin earlies such as the man with two brains and the jerk.
For a bit of culcha try the Pedro Almodovar films. You get totty thrown in, usually Penelope Cruz with her kit off.
British war films, any of them. I particularly like ice cold in alex.

I only saw Ice Cold in Alex - One.

What were the others like?

Looks like I have some shopping to do, lots of good films there guys and girls.

When I'm watching the boys films with lots of bombs and bullets I shall watch them with home made Indian and several bottles of Feldschlösschen followed by Irish coffee.

For the more refined thinking type films I will go for something like salmon tagliatelle in a light spring onion and garlic white sauce, washed down with a bottle (or 2) of a good Rioja in my new Riedel glasses, followed by a simple strong coffee, rounded off with Hennessy XO. Am I becoming posh? Nah - though I could become a few kilos heavier after all that.

Not that posh - James Bond would beat you to death in a railway compartment for drinking red wine with fish (unless the Rioja was a white one).

It could be a white Rioja although I'm struggling to put the words good, white and Rioja in the same sentence. :)

Very good point Gerard!

My wife and I have a tradition to highlight the fact that we don't follow traditions ;) We quite enjoy Champagne with fish finger and cheese sandwiches with chips on the side - luvly jubbly, and certainly not posh!

One of my favourite annual traditions with a very old friend of mine has been having Dom Perignon and Dominos Pizza; this one grew up out of a rainy bank holiday monday we were having a bit of a session, and we discovered the only alcohol left in the house was a bottle of Dom Perignon, and it just had to be done...

Not quite pearls dissolved in vinegar, but fairly decadent!
I know it's a silly username. If you've met me, I probably introduced myself as Josh...

Champagne must only be drunk:-

(1) when celeberating;
(2) when not celebrating;
(3) at all other times.

There are some OK white Riojas, but they tend to be too heavily oaked for my taste.

Since you are bereft of feminine company, I would suggest Indecent Behavior (sic) I, II, & III as multi-parts. If you don't want subtlety, go for Emmanuelle, Emmanuelle 2, Goodbye Emmanuelle, Emmanuelles 4, 5, 6, & 7; there are further Emmanuelles available if your SO is away for a while.

Save the Almovodar films for when she's back and claim brownies for claiming you're trying to get in touch with your feminine side.
