Interestingly though at Compton Abbas which is at 810 AMSL the davis weather centre reads 948 mb.
How do you set that QFE ?

You could of course just do what the rest of the world does and use QNH.

I gave up using QFE years ago. It's not rocket science to add 2000' to the published height to find the top of the ATZ, and 800 or 1000 feet to the published height to get the customary circuit height. Apparently it's too hard for the RAF, though.
