A place for regular members to sell their aviation stuff (non-commercial only pls, and no aircraft for sale)
Forum rules: Non-Aviation or commercial items are not accepted. The option to put items for sale here is in the first place for regular posters, if you are not (yet) a regular poster it may be that your ad will not be accepted.

Buyers and sellers should be aware that Flyer Forums or its parent company are not responsible for the articles put up for sale here nor can be held liable for any part of the transaction process - the usual internet buying and selling caveats apply and should be borne in mind when dealing with buyer/sellers through an internet site.

Apologies if this is not Aviationy enough - but I am selling my Asus FonePad tablet as it makes a pretty good "SkyDemon Appliance". I purchased it in July last year and it's been flying with me several times with no problems whatsoever. It's never overheated in my AA5.

It's a fairly low powered 7 inch form factor tablet running Android. The main feature it has is a micro SIM card slot and full GPS chipset, so it can be used as a standalone navigator. I ran SkyDemon on it and it never once lost signal in flight.

For data use, I use an "ovivo" SIM card which gives free data with no cost, you just have to look at some adverts every now and then. Ideal for something that's not in use all the time.

Full specs: http://www.gsmarena.com/asus_fonepad-5329.php This is the 16Gb model. It can also be used as a phone, though you wouldn't catch me doing that!

The reason I'm selling is that I have an iPad that I use for pre-flight planning, and now that SkyDemon supports the iPhone, I use that inflight.

Pictures - with full size iPad for scale:

Comes with original box, charger and cable. Looking for £125.

The model you have linked to wasn't announced till Sept 2013 and available from Oct, but you bought yours in July?
Does yours have 4G as the one in your link?

Yikes, very well spotted. I didn't even know there was a FonePad 7. Thanks for that. I have corrected the link. You're right, mine doesn't have 4G.

Cheers
