Planning a trip to north and east coasts of Spain in early October in our Cessna 182. Any recommendations or tips on airfields, handling, costs, fuel availability, local sights - or anything else useful - would be much appreciated.

San Sebastian is very nice. Avoid bilbao at all cost thec airport, not the city.

I agree with San Sebastian recommendation. Santander (LEXJ) is also a very nice airport with scenic approach, and near to the city (taxi needed).
In the east coast you cannot miss Castellon (LECN). No handling needed for the mentioned airports. Landing fees are around 20€ for Santander, 12€ for San Sebastian and only 5 for LECN. AVGAS is available at the 3 of them and prices can be around 2,6€ per litre. A bit more expensive at LECN, 2,9.
