I've added the subsequent journey from Boundary Bay to Indus near Calgary...
Oh and there are some pretty lake pictures from the Wilga on floats on my usual update page Right now I am in Kitchener Ontario picking up a DA20-C1 to fly back to Boundary Bay... 'Thinking of routing through the USA this time via Michigan, Minnesota, and the Dakota's, perhaps to Harve and then Lethbridge and through the rocks from there. MichaelP

It was a question of time and fuel and whether anyone would be there.
I was hoping for computer access for the chance of getting home that night... That blasted eAPIS business meant I couldn't get out without finding a computer. I like Scappoose, been there a few times. I'm just back from flying a DA20-C1 from Kitchener through the US: MI, MN, WIS, SD, ND and Montana back to Boundary Bay, landed just over an hour ago... Another write up must be done I suppose! Same story yesterday... 'Was getting Flight Following from Salt Lake Centre enroute to Glasgow when the controller asked me if I'd read the NOTAM Now I was looking for options... 'Went into Wolf Point - Clayton KOLF put some fuel in there and then went to the awkward to pronounce Harve KHVR, no-one there, so looked at dead Shelby, and then went to Cut Bank... Cut Bank is in the style of many a WWII British airfield with memorabilia from the days after 1942 when the field was built to train B17 crews. If you can't do the eAPIS you can't leave the country ($5,000 fine). So I skipped Lethbridge last night and did Cranbrook this morning instead. MichaelP

There has been a lot of complaints recently about Canadian border town residents popping across to shop in the USA and stripping the shops bare. It appears the Canadian dollar is strong against the US dollar.
Just wondering if there is a lot of importing of cheap US aircraft? I enjoyed the trip report. That was some bargain Mike. PS. You always moan about your life but have lifestyle many can only dream of.
Yes! But there are plenty of aircraft hangaring and parked around Canada too. Many beyond economic recovery! As ever the purchasers of these cheap aeroplanes are of the 50+ generation. The DA20-C1 was not so cheap, (Canadian aeroplane), but it is in excellent condition for a 1999 aeroplane. There's little point in importing cheap American certified aeroplanes because after the Canadian certification inspection requirements have been met the cost usually exceeds that of buying an equivalent aeroplane in Canada. Homebuilt aeroplanes have a lot less trouble associated with them. MichaelP
