Leaving ESGP Gothenburg to the south.

Swedish west coast from FL055 on a July evening. On the little island you’ll find the grass strip of ESGV Varberg.

Approaching Höganäs in the Swedish “county” of Scania (Skåne) from the north. On the far side of the peninsula one can see Denmark through the late afternoon haze. Hamlet’s castle at Elsinore is just a few miles south on the Danish side.

Final grass strip 14 EMSH Höganäs. As always impeccably kept.

The reason for the trip: the famed grilled herring sandwich, known as "flying fish". Swedish, Danish and German pilots flock here every Tuesday night during the summer months.
Aaahhh: life's good when you’re a pilot, innit!
