Just another trip

Postby Ben » Wed Jul 11, 2012 9:51 pm

A week ago we came back from a week holiday with friends. We left Southend to Dresden with one comfort landing on route. Dresden is a very impressive city with a very interesting mountains ridge about 30 miles away that can be reached by road or by sailing the old pedal steamers. Fuel at Drezden was on the high side but as we arrived on Sat. parking was free for the duration of our stay and landing fees were discounted by 50%. Hotel was Ibis (Accur Group) due to the no cancelation fees policy.
We left Dresden to Karlovy Vary (Karlsbad), an impressive town with shops to match. Restaurants will cost ~ £40 per person including drinks, two which are highly recommended are Capri if one wants Italian food or Azyal for local tasty food. Airport staff were very helpful and friendly and when our radio stopped working just before lining up the tower made sure to send their own radio engineer to help. Fuel in Karlovy Vary was a barging, ~ £1.05 per litre. The hotel was the 3* ‘Ontario hotel’ with rooms big enough for a football team.
From Karlovy Vary we flew to Munich and landed at Oberschleissheim, about 15 miles out of the city. A short taxi ride to the ‘S Bahn’ and then straight to the hotel. Parking at Oberschleissheim for 3 days was 50 Euro to be paid in cash, fuel was not cheap and also had to be paid in cash. The hotel was Novotel (Accur Group) due to the no cancelation fees policy.
We flew back via weather that could be much worse with a customs stop in Lille where we were ramp checked by the French Authorities, a short stop turned into a 2h wasted time. Minutes after departing Lille the radio fail again and we continued using our hand held back to Southend.

How did you get fuel at that price at Karlovy Vary? Last time it was 2.45 Euro? Is there a special rate? and how can I get it?

Ihave no answer.
We filled ~ 80 litres and paid ~ CK280. It was our friend who picked that bill so I will contact and ask him to check. In any case I remember that we all were very surprise at the price.
