I'm just back from Biarritz, without a ramp check.
Marie the lady from Aviation Generale said every plane get ramp checked, but I was very lucky.
Arrived Sunday late afternoon, so the gendarm was already at home and left at 11:00 UTC which is the most important time for the gendarm to eat luch.

There are ways to avoid it.
