Air Orlando did indeed move into the hands of new owners. This happened just before we rented from them in Feb of this year.
They're still a convenient company to rent from in the Orlando area and well suited for the Bahamas. However, I was less impressed by the state of the Cirrus we rented - it was the same as the one we had been renting for the prior 3 visits, but it had clearly not been looked after cosmetically. The other Cirrus that one of my flying partners rented, on the same trip, experienced a cylinder issue and had to swap to a Cessna 182. The rates have also increased a lot in the past couple of years (although partly due to the effect of the FX rate) - it's now not that much cheaper than the UK.
I'll probably rent from http://www.flyplatinum.com/ going forwards. The other pilots in our flying trip rented through them and their aircraft were spotless.

I'm at Sunstate Aviation at Kissimmee right now and they are a great bunch. They do though require an IR for Bahamas unfortunately. C172S non-G1000 but with autopilot dual VOR and everything always works are $135/hour at the frequent flyer rate ($2500 credit to your account on arrival). They have about 7 C172s, 2 C162s and a Tecnam twin now. Brand new building being built right now and they have been established a long time.
