Depending on how things go in the morning work-wise, I'm hoping to be a prob 50. Lots happening and I'm finding it very hard to commit to much at the moment. :(

We got seated in the clubhouse with some drinks and a man walked over and told us we shouldn't be in there, so we left. It wasn't busy and I would have thought an interest in the place, especially by people who live in the immediate area would be welcomed.

Sounds a bit of an odd one that. When did this happen. We have never had a membership bloke there? I will ask around.

I would love to say Hi but another Flyer man is taking me to France for the day.

I've just got back from WW and I dropped in to Waitrose to get myself something for supper. I fancied a nice steak and ale pie, but they only had one type. It was a humble pie, so I bought it for later...

A lovely lunchtime meet-up, thanks for suggesting it tKF, and great to finally meet you. Great to also meet Lefty and CP too, and to see Firefly again. Their hospitality was fantastic.

I didn't get my shins kicked by Rosa, and it seemed far more friendly than I recall from a long time ago.

Had time to take tKF for a quick fly before heading off home. No doubt he'll post a couple of pic's later. He flew the Cub most of the time, and a very nice job he did of it too.

A good little trip out. :thumleft:

Luckily Mono decided not to wear his yellow shell suit (matches the Cub!) today, so was allowed into the White Waltham club house this lunchtime....along with a couple of arrivals by road.

Great to see some old friends, and finally put some faces to names.

Special thanks to Mono for the Cub ride - what a gorgeous aeroplane. (He even gave me the extended ground tour of WW trying to find the correct runway for departure...)

Sorry about the 'mo!

Nice to meet up with you too - at last - mono! A most enjoyable lunch, and as ever at WW an excellent backdrop. Good to meet Ed, firefly and Lefty too.

Been at WW several times always flying and never had any problem. About this time last year I went to visit a friend who was recuperatig from a hip operation in a nearby health retreat. I proposed to go to a nice place where we could watch aeroplanes and also have a spot of lunch. It was a Sunday and the nice lady was on duty and we had to go through the "Are you members?" routine. At the end she let us in, but I felt very embarassed after being treated like a teenager caught in the act of gate-crashing a party. Please note that we were two middle aged persons one of which using a walking stick and definitevely we were not drunk.

Never been there since.

P.S. I am a member of the Squadron at North Weald and I can assure you that no PPR is needed to visit the Squadron and enjoy the hospitality of the NAAFI, regardless of the means of transportation used to reach NW.

I honestly couldn't tell you, much as I'd love to say otherwise

You had 25 in you head having landed on it, and I'd like to think the guy on the radio would have queried it had you read back incorrectly.

Anyway I thought I waited long enough to query where you were taking us, having watched everyone else using 29 quite happiy while we trundled over to 25 :D

I wasn't there, so don't know! But if you departed late afternoon it's quite likely that they changed from 25 to 29 to avoid the blinding setting sun (assuming there was any). It happened to me a few days ago while about to enter the overhead which meant repositioning from a LH to a RH circuit.
