Old Warden, early December

Postby vintage ATCO » Mon Oct 15, 2012 7:32 pm

Now that the display season is over we need to warm up the valves in the wireless telephony equipment a couple of times during the close season, so we are thinking Dec 8 or 9. Further details nearer the time.

Teddy bears are optional.

Old Warden remains open every day, subject to PPR and the airfield state, but you won't have the benefit of our dulcet tones over the airwaves. :)

Excuse me, I had to hide that post from my furry friends. They do not consider themselves optional , no doubt CC will be along in a minute ! :D

If the date works, I'm sure FredBear would allow me to sit with him in Concorde.

Are you planning both days?

We've not really planned anything yet. Depends on the availability of others.

8th December should be OK, if you can fix the weather.

This cannot now happen as Shuttleworth have decided to close the aerodrome to visiting aircraft UFN to enable work to take place on the taxiways and runway. I only found out on Saturday.

We may well still go in on 8 or 9 Dec, maybe to speak to an overflight. :) A non-fly-in. :D

Do you think they will have fixed the runway by then?
