One for the Cub flyers... 20/10/12

Postby Monocock » Fri Oct 12, 2012 8:23 pm

Short notice I know, but a local 'Cubber' I met recently has had a good idea of a mini Cub meet on 20th October. Details as follows:

Venue: Chiltern Park
Date: 20th Oct (or 21st if weather is better)
Time: 12 midday
Format: Bring something to eat. Tea & Coffee on tap

You don't have to fly a Cub to come, and it would be great to see some potential LAA'ers!!! All are welcome.

Watch this thread for updates.

Please note, this is highly informal and is an attempt to make the most of the daylight while we still have some. :thumleft:

Hoping to see 15 Cubs there ........ Please can I ask that you send a link to this page to any Cub flyers you know who don't read the forum. Thanks. :pirat:

I have the C172 booked for Saturday so may come along to this. I see on the airfield website that you must use runway 04R/22L which is only 420m, is the longer runway out of action as I am not sure about a runway that short in the 172?

I'm pretty sure both are available Russ. I will check and report back.

Having spent today restoring some brake efficiency to DK, I hope to be there on Saturday.

Hi Mono.
Unfortunately I cannot make this, my Champ is currently grounded for some tlc. However I have passed details and a link to this thread to a local L4 Cub flier who may well join you. I trust you will have a succesful Cub-meet.

I got there after the fog lifted and there weren't any other Cubs to be seen as they too were misted in. So, with a passenger who needed to be at Turweston by 1330 at the latest, we decided to move on.

I can't seem to get a response from others as to whether they made it or not. Maybe today would have been a better day for it.

Goodwood was effectively closed all morning due waterlogging, so I doubt the L4 escaped ...
