I find myself overnighting in London on 25 April and quite fancy going out for an evening to include decent steak and red wine - anybody interested before we look at locations?

Drinkes and a a nice steak in London 25 April
Surely even gibberish still follows rules - shouldn't it be "
an a nice steak" rather than "
a a nice steak" ?
(only posted to comply with the best traditions of having at least two pedantic posts before anything useful appears).

Not seen you for a while Derek - put me down as a PROB50 if you would (and the veggie/fishandchipocrite option as well)

I'm a prob 50 + guest. I'm not sure what a "drinke" is and "nice" is subjective, but I'll be bold and take the risk, so long as there are a good proportion of pedants there.
Give me a Chipmunk and I'll show you a good time.

I'd love to join you, but a motley group of penguins have requested my presence that evening. I'll nibble my fishpaste sarnies and lemonade and think of steak and Pomerol.

Just so happens I'm in the Smoke that day, and will have spent several hours discussing our pension scheme's investment strategy with the actuaries. In other words, I will be needing a drink(e). Count me in!

I will probably be "resting between contracts" so will be very up for steak and wine

Well after starting this thread I now feel a bit 'Gerardish' in that my evening has now been taken over by an unexpected work commitment (which is why I'm over there) so I'll have to duck out of this and hopefully see if I can't catch up with you guys (and gals) next time I'm over

Not sure if this is happening, even though Derek has pulled out. I can't make it, but does that mean its all over?
