What are you planning? Where shall we go?

After a two year break, the Croft Farm Defford Open Day is happening again this year on Saturday 20th June.

it's not been widely publicized but is usually well attended. We had over 70 arrivals by air at the last one in 2007.

You can find arrival details here

http://www.defford-croftfarm.co.uk/deffordairday.htm

The object is to raise money for 2 very worthwhile charities - Mission Aviation Fellowship, which flies medical and other emergency aid to far flung corners of the world, and the Gloucestershire Air Ambulance, which not only does the usual sterling work but will probably be present on the day.

There is no set landing fee or entry charge, but you WILL be approached for a donation, and given a smart red sticker in return. We are asking for a minimum of £10 for landing, £5 per person for car arrival or £10 for a family - but the decision to give is YOURS.

If you fly in, PPR either by phone 07767-606172 (Clive Porter, the owner) or en route 119.100, callsign Defford Radio, which will be operational on the day with a professional ATC (many thanks).

PLEASE CHECK NOTAMS as there is a Red Devils parachute display at the Three Counties Show at Malvern, a few miles to the West, and a Paramotor rally at Kempsey, a few miles North.

Finally, please be sure you are confident to land at a grass strip, 570m, quite smooth but with a big BUMP in the middle. There was an RV7A accident in 2007, fortunately no serious injury but a lovely aircraft wrecked.
