South Wales and West England 9th February Meal

Postby Carole P » Thu Jan 03, 2013 1:15 pm

Well the Christmas meal was very enjoyable for the 4 of us who turned up but it was perhaps a bit late in the planning and the wrong time of year so as promised I suggest a date in February in Wales for us to have a meal.
How does the weekend of the 9th February sound?
I can do other dates if necessary but it is a good starting point.
The other question is do we go someone really nice such as the Custom House where the 4 of us went last week or somewhere a but more pie and chippy?

Some how we missed the 29th, what a shame! We would be pleased to try the customs house or anywhere else on the 9th Feb.

Can we tempt you SW lot with the Gloucestershire Airport Charity Ball a week later at the Hatherley Manor Hotel instead? Friday 16th, £29.50 a ticket, dinner and dance, proceeds to Aerobility and Help for Heroes. There's a special room rate and I'll donate your landing fees to the charities too if you want to fly in.

I'll start a new thread tomorrow with all the details, but we'd really like you to come.

I'm afraid Fridays are no good to me as it is a Cadet Parade night and I am also up early on the Saturday to do fundraising with our cadets but thank you for the heads up

I'm keen to attend the meal, but I have round 2 of my IR exams on the Monday so it will depend on how my studies are going. Please put me down provisionally, and I will confirm nearer the time.

The date is completely flexible it was just a starting point if another date makes life easier for everyone, as for Paul Sengupta and a Hen party I think we will need pictures 'lol'

Top marks to you Carol for all your efforts. If I was still in that part of the world I'd be there. However I'm in Asia until the clocks go forward. Are Tom Jenkins and Bob Thursby still flying?

Hi there, I'm not sure about Bob but pretty sure Tom is no longer flying, we see him occasionally at our Thursday Flyers but he has been enjoying the sunshine abroad quite a bit in the last year. We haven't seen Bob in a long time but I am assured he is OK :-)

I asked the same question down the pub a couple of weeks ago and was assured that Bob is still flying.
