It would be quite something to see and hear that fly. Just imagine the weight of responsibility on the pilot's shoulders.

I remember seeing the Me109 Black 6 (I think that's right) fly at Duxford (flown by Charlie Brown, if memory serves). To hear the snarling crackle of the Daimler-Benz engine and to see the the aircraft's aggressive and predatory 'look' in flight sent chills down my spine. It seemed very different from the Merlin engined 109s. My imagination, probably - but a marked difference from the Spitfire's grace and beauty.

The Daimler Benz in Black 6 though is very sweet sounding. Much smoother and more musical than the raucous Merlin.
