I have no idea what the current doctor does for the ladies but I agree his tenancy will not be seen as a high point. As for Totty it has always been Jo Grant for me. Apparently helpless but with a good right hook. Innocent times.

I thought the Christmas Doctor Who Episode was very enjoyable, I agree though that I would like a new more sexy doctor. Matt Smith has improved but David Tennant set a very high bar

It was fun but I'm ready for a change from big series-long mysteries around companions who take everything utterly in stride with a flirt and a wisecrack.

I am not filled with confidence that I'll get one until Mr Moffatt hands over the reins though...

Come on Leia. It's got to be better than a girlie squealer (of either sex) requiring continual rescue and falling over twisting their ankle whenever they have to run away?

I agree with Leia. There's very little sci in the fi these days. Problems are solved with intuition rather than detection and every other scene involves pointlessly running from the slowest moving baddies (snowmen, scarecrows, statues, daleks) in the universe. And when the running has stopped, the bad guys are still in the same place. Lack of plot, character and pace peppered with mawkish self-indulgence. But the most damning part us that my kIds are hardly interested. I only watch because of misguided loyalty.

Making coweyes at the Doctor throughout every ep and having everyone else's eyes falling out of their head into the puddle of drool isn't exactly a shining beacon of sexual liberation and equality either mind you...

It's still bubble gum fun, but the female characters are still unquestionably no less "for the dads" than ever they were!

I'm not really the person to comment as my renewed interest, sparked by the stunning retread with Ecclestone and Piper, waned through the Tennant years when I started missing episodes and through the Matt Smith / Scottish Bint years when I happily started missing series.

Bring back Torchwood!

Could never watch Torchwood due to the lead 'actor' making a highly disrespectful mockery of the rank of Group Captain.
As for Dr Who; my interest waned when Sylvestser McCoy took over and I haven't bothered with it much since. Why do producers have to wreck successful TV series by changing them from 30 min to 60?

Well speak as I find, I thought the pretty Chinese girl's fling with Ms Denby-Ashe wasn't half bad tele.

Completely off topic, there is no-one finer than Christina Hendricks from Mad Men...
