Class of 2013 & Achievements 2013

Postby Jwscud » Wed Jan 02, 2013 10:12 pm

My turn to take over from DavidC this year. Anything you've achieved in an aircraft, put it here. We are all students, and there are always further achievements, further ratings and qualifications to add.

Last years achievers can be found here - everything from First Solos to Big Jets. If it's worth of inclusion, I shall add it to the list below. Let us hope that triskaidekaphobia keeps away, and you all have a safe and successful 2013...

I know it's a silly username. If you've met me, I probably introduced myself as Josh...

It involved an LST - I very much think so...

Night Rating

Postby rats404 » Sun Feb 03, 2013 9:52 pm

Yee haa! Completed my last night sortie tonight (the nav, after waiting over six weeks for weather). So that's the night rating to add to my IMC.

Now to complete the paperwork and get it signed by the ATO and sent to the CAA.

Very happy.

IMC completed - ish!

Postby davtom » Sun Feb 24, 2013 1:08 pm

IMC test completed and passed 2nd Feb after 15h 05m. Only about 5 mins of that in actual soup...

But I still need to do another three hours P1 flying before I can apply! Hope to get some of that done today.

Passed my PPL Skills test on the 22nd Feb 2013!

Absolutely shocking weather, snow showers, crosswind, cloud base at 2,500... But was very relieved when I received the all clear!

Cheers,

We were half way down page 3 by this stage in the achievements '12 thread - weather mostly to blame presumably.

Anyway, well done to all above

If revalidations count, I passed my IR revalidation check flt on 17/3 with a quick session in the Sim then 90 mins in a PA28 to include a hold, ILS, and GPS approach at Exeter.

Cant believe its nearly 10 years since I wrote this thread on here ...

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6315

but pleased to say , after Getting my PPL in 2008 and not flying again after the Skills Test, I had a supportive family and great Instructor and Flying Club that stopped my license expiring next week.

SEP Revalidated 26/03/2013 and being so long since I last flew i did a near enough
PPL Skills Test 26/03/2013 just for good measure.

( I think the Skills Test supercedes te SEP Reval anyway so maybe just class it as LST at admins choice, but basically the rating had expired and the PPL License was 1 week from expiry past the 5 year so did the LST to get BOTH back in order and me confident again )

Had the paperwork sorted yesterday after the flight , down to Gatwick at 5am this morning for the counter service with the conversion to EASA license too and slept in the car until 12 midday when I collected it from the counter. A little blue book fully current and ready to go.

For anyone close to expiry or thinking about letting things lapse , I would really vouch for you to go and get the stuff done required because it is great to be back flying and feeling more careful and confident than I did the first time round. Just in time for summer too !

Thanks to many of the users here who consistently assist (?) in many of the threads and topics I have popped my head into to view but never actual speak much in.

Calum

It might be the 1st of April, but I have indeed completed my PPL Skills test today :D

I just hope the examiner isn't considered a fool for passing me!

I do hope that the current weather leads to a rash of new achieves - keep them coming!
