Correct.

The next obvious question is, do you use the McKillop fold?

Headset - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0896805585

Bought one of these, received today but not delivered in time for my lesson, great fit but if you've got a big head then you might struggle with it.

Its a way to fold that duvet we call a chart into a manageable size that also gives access to the adjacent areas without totally refolding.

Well that's the theory anyway :D

Other essential bits of kit:
* arnica to help relieve the bruising in your face from the grin you're going to be wearing after your 1st solo
* a money tree, must be the eternal flowering variety
* sunglasses - usually only the most expensive on the planet will do. Must co-ordinate with the watch that Rob recommends
* ear defenders for your loved ones so that they can filter out your fascinating tales of flying and your CAP413 practice

Out.

Indeed, Duncan was a contemporary of mine when we were both learning at Wellesbourne Aviation.

The instructors there used to help us fold the half mill chart so that the airfield was more or less in the centre of a rectangle somewhere between A4 and A3 (from memory). This was fine until you left the local area.

Duncan being a practical type spent a happy weekend experimenting on bits of blank paper, in scale to a chart, and devised his very clever fold.

Even in a restricted space cockpit it is possible to unfold and refold as your track crawls across the ground.

I recommend it to all without reservation.
