Hi Denny, and welcome!
You'll find everyone really friendly and helpful here on the Student's forum, be they Students commiserating with each other or the experienced pilots offering their advice.
So are you just starting on your PPL training?

Welcome !
Have a look around, and see if some questions have already been answered. But if not, or if you have specific ones - feel free to share. There's loads of people here who would be happy to answer them, or to share their own experiences. Also, you could try writing up about your own training and experiences. It certainly helps new comers, to see how other's are doing it.

Thanks, that is the sort of advice I am looking for, good sound commonsense.

If you do find something has been answered before, don't be too afraid of asking for updates. Especially if it involves kneeboards or pink headsets! (or VFR on top in France with an IMC rating or IR(R) or EASA PPL, but I don't expect you to know about any of that at the moment!)

Careful, Paul!
Don't confuse the Students' Forum. Kneeboards go in Non-Av, and pink headsets in Admin.
