Ground exams in Surrey

Postby Andrew05100 » Wed Dec 05, 2012 7:14 pm

Just a post to find some local knowledge if you don't mind.

I'm on around 50 hours with a university air squadront that i'm attached to. I've been looking to do my PPL exams but the problem is getting to someone where suitable and the costs.

I've done exam at Old Sarum in Wiltshire (AGK) which charges £26, i've enquired about doing another with Goodwood in West sussex who want £45!

I'll be looking to do the rest of my exams over xmas when I have time off, does anyone know any schools offering good prices for students wanting do just exams with the prospect of carry out flying tests with them at a later stage?

Local aerodromes are Fairoakes and Redhill.

Thanks

Cubair do them at Redhill. Charge is £40 I think. Our examiner is a training Captain for an airline, so you would need to check on his availability before your turned up. One of the owners (Nikki) can administer the exams but not mark them if Ian is not available.

You are looking at the £40 mark around most places, I am doing my theory with Cubair (actually I have to re-do them (3) since they have now expired) :(

If you pop by Redhil Aerodrome let me know, we can always have a chat and a coffee. I too am a local. :)

I trained and fly from LTFC at Fairoaks. As a member there was no problem getting an exam done. Can't remember charge, but I would think no more than £25.
