Flying training in FranceI would be interested to know if anyone has any experience of flying training in France. I am interested in training for the Brevet de Base which I believe should suit my needs but I am a little concerned about taking the theoretical exam in a foreign language! I'm also hoping that there will be a fairly limited vocabulary required to understand and respond to verbal instruction given by the instructor. Any comments, thoughts or suggestions would be gratefully received. To be clear though I'm not looking for a native English speaking instructor ( I am aware of at least one).
Flying in FranceHi,
Have a word with Barbara Reed at the Aeroclub de Chauvigny, near Poitiers. She is an English voluntary Instructor, but speaks fluent French...email to piper.classique@gmail.com. Best of luck.
Thank you Puddleduck and timbr for your replies. One of my biggest concerns is the language issue; my French is adequate for most purposes but I'm far from fluent. I have also now noted that the Brevet de Base is to be abolished in April 2014. WIth this in mind I have another question. Would it be possible to do all or the majority of the practical training for a PPL in France but to do the theory exams in the UK?
If you're near Limoges, try http://www.cosmoflightschool.com/. I did about 8 hours training with their predecessor, the late Sue Virr.
