Finally, 1st Solo

After 45 hours training and 100+ landings I have finally been let lose to do a circuit on my own.

Sadly I didn't feel like jumpimg for joy (might do myself an injury <grin>) or shouting from the roof tops, it was a bit of anti-climax, just felt like another circuit.

The weather today was perfect for it though. Very little wind, little cloud and good vis.

Flew from home base of Liverpool down to Sleap to do circuit emergencies and final circuits with FI before being let lose.

So a good day's learning. More experience relating features on the ground to half-mil charts, more R/T including talking to Shawbury mil and then circuits away from home base and at an uncontrolled field.

All in all an excellent day's flying.

I'm still waiting for mine... Was aiming for First solo by Christmas but have been grounded several times due to weather. I've done 30+ hours too so I'm itching! I think Liverpool is a very busy airport and I've just recently acquainted myself with the joy of flying to Sleap! Much quieter and can focus on the circuit pattern and not told to orbit for 20mins or suddenly had to divert when already on base leg as there's and IFR going on that was too close!
