...and Skills test soon eh?! This just proves that Sarfend does have better wx than the frozen wastes of Lincolnshire (well, it certainly proves that you get more regular flying than me.) You only started last year didn't you?!

Started in Feb this year and I have to admit I've been extremely lucky with the weather.
To be honest I have got to this point a lot quicker than I'd planned, date wise rather than flying hours which I think is well in the 50's, but I learnt very early on that I would progress quicker if I didn't have too big a gap between lessons. This led me to book as many lessons as I could to counter the weather factor which considering the year we've had I'm amazed that I've only missed half a dozen lessons in total due to weather. I've also been fortunate that the aircraft have very good availability during the week when I usually fly so the lessons tend to be longer than an hour, sometimes wallet cringingly so That said, the last two lessons have been no go due to the weather so I'm itching to get back in the air, albeit under the hood or pretending the trusty 152 engine has had enough and put its feet up in the air. I'm actually hoping that we'll be going over PFL's today as my last attempt on the way back from a Navex I was very pleased with was abysmal and I have absolutely no confidence in that area. Something that is playing on my mind now I seem to be on the final straight. It quite nice not having to study for the written exams anymore and I can devote more time to reading about the practical elements and devising ways of making navigation and diverting easier. Pilot plans, Weather laughs.
Aah, thought you had started well after me...I started in May 2010!! Hmmm just shows what can be done if wx, FI, aircraft, one Brain and Ops all play ball!! We have a major problem as flying in working hours midweek is a huge issue. Although yes, I could spare the time out of work, getting PPR from ops is...errrm...challenging! These days i'm known in Ops and a gentle and friendly persuasion does the trick but it doesn't help when one is trying to learn More GH practise tomorrow hopefully (ahh yes, trying to get those PFLs accurate....) and knock the rust off my landing technique.....
