Re: Class of 2012 & Achievements 2012Only just discovered these forums, despite reading my other half's Flyer for a couple of years now! And just received my PPL, which explains why I am now looking for ideas on how to make best use of it, which is what brought me here.
It took me almost two years, and 70 hours, although the first few months were sitting on the right, doing a co-pilot's course. And of course the appalling weather has meant it took me from January first solo to July's skills test, and then our family holiday delayed the R/T and final paper work. Great to have it all done and had the pleasure of flying my wife somewhere last week rather than the other way round. I may even have impressed her a bit with my landings - well the first one anyway.
QXCJust returned from my Qualifying Cross Country. LFBL-LFBI-LFBU-LFBL.
Really pleased, weather was fab and all went well apart from slightly strange over city downwind at Poitiers?? I double checked their instructions too as you are normally routed around the East then North of the city, but they wanted me LH downwind for RW21 which is directly over the city??
Re: Class of 2012 & Achievements 2012All updated. Congratulations everybody - time for some more progress perhaps, now that the Olympic restrictions are gone and we're enjoying some decent weather at last?

Re: Class of 2012 & Achievements 2012@bjarvi1: Congratulations. I'm sure the experience will remain imprinted on your mind for quite some time.
Overall it seems a bit quiet this month, but nice to see another solo (there's a bit gap since the last one recorded here). Don't be shy if you've got anything new to report. Newbie PPL/Night/IMC flying rented PA28
