1st test v West Indies

Postby TheKentishFledgling » Thu May 17, 2012 8:16 pm

On my way home from Lords after a solid first day from England. Anderson looked very threatening early on, but Stuart Broad took the honours by the close, despite a solid knock from Chanderpaul. A good toss to win, and I'd hope at his time tomorrow England will be in a commanding position.

I am hoping to be there tomorrow, but work may well get in the way :(

Prop, I wish I'd thought to give you as message, as I assume you're there...?

Just back from the 5 day stint at Lord's. I didn't realise you were there on Thursday or I would have bought you a pint! Sorry to have missed you.

The result was good, some good performances all round, and the Windies proved better opposition than expected. A good work-out for the England team after a poor winter. It must have been one of the coldest test matches that I have ever been to, with Sunday like a day trip to the North Pole. I spent a considerable amount of time picking polar bear hairs out of my teeth as they blew about in the wind!

Still, all's well that ends well. :D
