Here be cricket.
First day in Aus on Monday, walking around Circular Quay in Sydney, come across a chap holding a sign saying "Aussie Ashes Squad announcement, 11.30am".
Head over to where he's pointing, and see a big screen with the interview hoarding backgrounds set up, and lots of TV cameras in front. Lean on the railing to see who's about and what's going on - who do we see?
Announces the squad with the chairman of selectors, answers a view questions - definitely NOT the chipper, confident Ponting we'd have seen two-three years ago....
Few more head on to answer some questions - Kattich and Shane Watson (who is a serious unit).
Incredible game just finished at the SCG, and now having a cool one watching England v Aus A on the box up in Hobart - Ian Bell's just been dismissed for 192, his batting's looked class.
Roll on next week
PS not a bad view out of our apartment window, either
Have they reduced the Aussie squad below 22,529,040 yet? Or are they planning on playing the flies as well?
Cheering up a bit with grumpy spells later
