The 2nd Test

Postby nimbusj15 » Mon Jul 13, 2009 8:26 am

I am away for the next test match, the key for commentary box will be in it's usual place.

The catering dept will be on detachment as well, but I'm advised that a rather good Melton Mowbray pork pie will be in the cupboard where the microphone lives and the vegiee option is a rum and raisen cake which you'll have to find for yourself.

Some batting practice required for some and a bit of attitude adjustment for someone in particular (I must not play silly strokes).

Please avoid wearing spikes in the Long Room.

Just getting my things ready for 5 days at Lord's. I've ditched the usual checklist and replaced it with:

Raincoat
Umbrella
Waterproof over-trousers
Duck food.

I think there's some leek soup left in the urn.

Hmmm ... could do a lot of damage to that lunch.

Today would be the day I agreed to go on a teddy bears' picnic with littlest granddaughter. Oh well.

Probably a little young to fully appreciate Russell Crowe in any case.

Although the score would indicate that the Aussies put up teddy bears rather than batsmen.

If recent experience in another sport (namely rrugby) is anything to go by, after this test England shouldn't expect to get another remotely 50/50 decision for some time...
