Figeac (LFCF) ...

Postby Iceman » Wed Aug 29, 2012 10:49 pm

I visited the airfield of Figeac this weekend, 24th - 27th August 2012. A 900 metre hard strip at 1085ft elevation on a high plateau. The airfield has a local flying club which was quite active on my Friday afternoon arrival, but quiet on my Monday departure (I was the only aircraft movement observed). The locals seemed friendly enough. I got the impression that it was Fench-only on the RT so it gave me an opportunity to practise my best French RT.

I even bumped into G-BEPY's French cousin F-BEBY !

The airfield has an on-field restaurant / bar which is very popular with locals and serves very good food in the way that only French airport restaurants can. Open 7 days a week breakfast to dinner.

On asking how much the landing / parking fees were on arrival, this was met with a laugh and a reply that there were none.

Quite out of town, but certainly worth a stop for food if you need to break a journey.
