Olympic Torch

Postby jaycee58 » Sun Oct 07, 2012 10:39 pm

I couldn't get to the Breighton fly-in today thanks to fog but the weather cleared up a bit in the afternoon so I went for a bimble and found this a mile or so to the south-west of Seething. Very nicely done, I thought.

Must take a lot of patience and some skill to do that!

Nah; not when you have Hyperdraw enabled flying saucers. I think that came with version 6.4 or 6.5 of the CC software, so most units in the galaxy are now likely to have it. Many would say that it makes crop circle art too easy, that the skill and art have gone out of it.

You just PS the picture you want and the saucer does the rest.

I had a phone call the other day from a stranger, a non-aviation UFO/Crop Circle enthusiast wanting to know if I flew around Wiltshire, had I seen a crop circle, and what I thought of them. I thought at first must be one of you lot recording hoax calls for a Flyer forum Xmas special. By the end of the call, I decided HE was genuine (if you see what I mean), but not before I'd pointed out to him his idea that aliens came from afar was hardly credible when compared to the easy to believe likelihood that it was more to do with time travel.... Mrs Irv was only listening to my end of the conversation and was very puzzled for the whole length of the call (presumably that I thought of time and distance as being totally separate concepts.....).
What worried me MOST during the call was his statement that he really felt he needed to know whether there were aliens visiting, and he was thinking about it so much he thought he was going to go mad.

What I find fascinating is that all the hype about 3D has just fizzled away.

Everyone got terribly excited by the Pyramids, Stonehenge and Puma Punku and said that Nazca generation stuff was finished and had no market, and then the whole thing quietly went 2D again.

The delightful part is that it was meant to fly at Mach 4, and managed 35 mph. Shot down by a Piper Cub, probably.
